16x16 Luxury Vinyl Tile for kitchen in Brighton

This job was unique because we had to deal with asbestos tiles. It was underneath the upper white color tiles. We didn't know it was there until we removed it. They initially asked us to take out all the vinyl so the floor wouldn't be too high. Proper cautious was then taken to handle the asbestos tiles and the occupants left the house until the job was completed.

The plywood was nail down very tightly and all seems, gaps and nail holes was patched up. The whole entire floor was also patched up/skim-coated. The tiles underneath will never see the light of days again. The residents can now sleep peacefully at night.

The owner was a sweet elderly lady and she couldn't afford to remove the asbestos tiles so we did the next best thing by carefully covering it up with plywood. We made sure there was no further disruption of the tiles underneath. Everything was completely covered up so that the asbestos particles will never get airborne.

The 16x16 luxury tiles was finished. All base boards were nailed back in place.

Our elderly client just had hip surgery and she was very concerned about the height difference of the kitchen and living floors. Her children were very worried that she might trip if the floors were uneven and asked us to install a threshold that's very low. We couldn't find a threshold that is 1/2 inch tall so we made our own. Took us a while to sand and cut it down the plain old wood that's low enough for this kitchen transition into the living room. We re-sanded the living for her house at an earlier point and this threshold was a nice touch. We also made one for the up-stair bathroom leading out to the hardwood floor hallway that we refinished for her.

We used RamBoard to move the refrigerator and stove out of the kitchen. This prevents scratching up any floor surfaces.

This wonderful lady and her daughters were very pleased and sent us an appreciation letter for our careful level of attention to details.
